yesterday, it was my second anniversary far from home. and with home, i mean the place that i am trying to escape when i’m there and the one i want to return when i’m not.

since 22,02,2009, i think i’ve learned the following:

_  the soundtrack of zorbas the greek may be heard equally, in an underground alternative bar of a german city and in the opening of a contemporary art exhibition in palais de tokyo. in both cases, people hug each other and dance ecstatically.

_ friends are the ones available. the ones that insist, those that note the white sheep in a bunch of black ones. if someone does not enjoy his own company, once said coco chanel, probably he’s right.

_ never trust anyone with a mean sense of style.

_ the members of your family equal the 911 number. are those that are handling you at your worse. &those that may seem deaf but they hear until they lose their hearing.

_ never underestimate the power of orange knickers.

Died and went to heaven.

People breathe with macbookbros, iphones, aurevoirs and croissants.

You grab breakfast with people from Chile like

a well-adjusted norm.

You hang out with strangers and get lost in the metro

with a secure feeling that you’re going the right way.

Mademoiselles walk on converses and carry empty louis vuittons,

monsieurs resemble Beau Brummel

& kids return home from school fetching baguettes

for the family meal.

You wash your face with borrowed Fructis shampoo

and having trouble sleeping the first night

- your mind had just exploded from vanity -

you speak a french-english mix

with a greek accent.

And for getting the picture,

you havent taken a single picture at all.
