Reverie by the artist Georges Lepape [1924]

When you are constantly thinking about new

designs’ – said the young Jeanne Lanvin -

everything you see is transformed & adapted

to whatever is in hand.

The process happens naturally &

becomes an instinct, a truth, a necessity,

another language.

Roland Barthes insists to question

in the opening of his book

- The Fashion System -

Why fashion interposes

between object and its user

such a luxury of words

such a network of meaning.

A network that consists of 3 elements

the object

the picture

the word.

Clothing on a par with buildings

lady Jeanne on par with monsieur Alber

and language on par with whatever is between.

In hand,

or in a manner of speaking.

A Private Laboratory (by Rsie architects) somewhere in Paris,

closely resembling conceptualités

from my intimate future.

*Lost in Paris*

Indeed.

A green facade blooming from

glass – handmade – beakers

for bacterial culture

camouflages private experiments

with the use of private data,

concerning the technical info.

Like a green cocoon,

in a courtyard.

Like the green outfit from

that is at least

Moving.

Best things in life are not things

i keep repeating to myself

and then net-a-porter

pops up in my Safari tab.

Today, at the supermarché

a man asked for a vase of egg brik

and the lady in charge

replied

‘You will find it at the counters

when you finish your shopping’.

Preventing him from stealing it.

If a lady carrying a clutch like the above

asked for a vase of brik

noone would have bothered worrying

where the *poor* fish eggs would have ended up.

Since, nothing else fits in them

rather than your keys,

your credit

&

all those ‘non – things’ you have left aside.

It is always – a matter of content.

Casa 11 Mujeres

(Eleven Women House)

.. was named like that because it was designed

for a family with 11 daughters

ages four to twenty.

Divided in three floors,

is built with bare concrete

wood floors, glass, and steel,

on a 45 degree slope

looking down Cachagua beach

(87 miles north of Santiago de Chile).

The bottom floor contains shared spaces,

the top floor has the master bedroom +

kitchen, living room, dining room,

while the second level has the daughters bedrooms

—all overlooking the sea—

What if the 11 daughters

dressed up

in Lanvin Resort 2009;

Then everything would resort*

to ‘perfection’.

Resort:

noun

a place that is a popular destination for vacations or recreation, or which is frequented for a particular purpose a seaside resort a health resort.• archaic the tendency of a place to be frequented by many people :places of public resort.

the action of turning to and adopting a strategy or course of action, esp. a disagreeable or undesirable one, so as to resolve a difficultsituation Germany and Italy tried to resolve their economic and social failures by resort to fascism.• [in sing. a strategy or course of action that may be adopted in a difficult situation her only resort is surgery herself tomorrow now.

* ORIGIN late Middle English (denoting something one can turn to for assistance): from Old French resortir, from re- ‘again’ sortir ‘come or go out.’ The sense [place frequently visited] dates from the mid 18thcent.
